Gross Development Productions is excited to announce that MENTAL will be screening at the 2026 LA Indie Film Festival on Friday, November 13, 2026, at the Let Live Theater in Los Angeles.

The award-winning mockumentary MENTAL, created by Laura Gross, continues its exciting journey on the independent film festival circuit with an upcoming screening at the LA Indie Film Festival.

Known for its unconventional humor, memorable characters, and satirical take on mental health and society, MENTAL takes audiences inside Happy Pines Mental Resort, where the line between sanity and absurdity becomes increasingly blurred.

Starring Laura Gross, Abigail Breslin, and Denise Fennell, the film blends sharp comedy with unexpected twists, inviting audiences to question: Who’s truly “mental”?

Following its recognition as Best Mockumentary at the Tarzana International Film Festival, MENTAL continues to connect with audiences and celebrate the creativity of independent filmmaking.

LA Indie Film Festival Screening Details

MENTAL will be featured in the festival’s Shorts Program 1, alongside a diverse selection of independent films.

The LA Indie Film Festival takes place November 13–14, bringing together independent filmmakers and film enthusiasts for two evenings of screenings, storytelling, and creative collaboration.

A filmmaker Q&A will follow each screening program, providing audiences with an opportunity to engage with participating filmmakers in attendance.
